The Formula & The Science

Every ingredient has a job. Every dose is there to do it.

Here is what's in Ante Meridiem, how much, in what form, and what the evidence does and doesn't let us say about it.

Meaningful doses

Amounts chosen to match the research, not to make the ingredient list longer.

Full disclosure

Every amount on the label. No proprietary blends hiding the details.

Independent testing

Each batch tested by Campden BRI, with the certificate a scan away.

Honest claims

We only say what UK law and the evidence allow. We think that's a feature.

Ingredient by ingredient

What's in the pouch

Amounts per 20g serving

Creatine Monohydrate

5,000mg

Micronised · 200 mesh

What it is

A compound made naturally in the body and stored in muscle, where it helps recycle the energy used in short, intense effort. Found in small amounts in meat and fish.

What we can say

Creatine increases physical performance in successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise. The effect is obtained with 3g a day; each serving gives 5g.

L-Citrulline

4,750mg

Free-form amino acid

What it is

A non-essential amino acid named after the watermelon (Citrullus) in which it was first found. The body converts it to arginine.

What we can say

There is no authorised health claim for citrulline, so we make none. We include it at an amount in line with published research rather than a token dose.

Glycine

2,000mg

Amino acid

What it is

The simplest amino acid, and one of the building blocks the body uses to make collagen, creatine and glutathione.

What we can say

No authorised health claim exists for glycine. It is here as a building block, and for its naturally mild sweetness.

Taurine

1,000mg

Amino-sulfonic acid

What it is

Naturally concentrated in skeletal muscle, the heart and the eyes, where it is involved in fluid balance and calcium signalling.

What we can say

No authorised health claim exists for taurine. We describe what it is, not what it does for you.

Vitamin C

250mg

From 1,000mg acerola cherry extract

What it is

An essential vitamin the body cannot make for itself. Acerola is a small Caribbean cherry, standardised here to 25% vitamin C.

What we can say

Vitamin C contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, the normal function of the immune system and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Betaine (TMG)

750mg

Trimethylglycine

What it is

A naturally occurring compound found in beetroot, spinach and wholegrains. It acts as an osmolyte, helping cells regulate their water balance.

What we can say

Betaine’s authorised claim applies at a higher daily intake than this serving provides, so we don’t make it.

Citicoline

500mg

CDP-choline

What it is

A form of choline, a nutrient the body uses to make cell membranes and the messenger acetylcholine.

What we can say

Citicoline is a regulated ingredient with a maximum daily amount in supplements. No authorised health claim exists for it.

Potassium

300mg

Potassium citrate · 15% NRV

What it is

An essential mineral and electrolyte, found in fruit, vegetables and pulses.

What we can say

Potassium contributes to normal muscle function and the maintenance of normal blood pressure.

Magnesium

200mg

Malate, bisglycinate, citrate · 53% NRV

What it is

An essential mineral involved in hundreds of processes in the body. We use three forms for a substantial, well-tolerated total.

What we can say

Magnesium contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, normal muscle function, normal psychological function and normal energy-yielding metabolism.

Ionic Trace Minerals

400mg

Trace mineral complex

What it is

A blend of naturally occurring trace minerals included to round out the hydration side of the formula.

What we can say

We make no health claim for this complex. Its full mineral profile: [FROM SUPPLIER SPECIFICATION].

Boron

3mg

Sodium borate

What it is

A trace element found naturally in fruit, nuts, pulses and wine.

What we can say

No authorised health claim exists for boron, so we make none.

Flavour

Wild cherry, and nothing to hide behind it.

Flavour comes from cherry, with lucuma and beetroot powders, malic and citric acid for brightness, and 30mg of stevia leaf extract for a little sweetness. Glycine helps too, being naturally mild and sweet.
